Airy and bright with the largest private garden terrace at Lightwater, Magnolia Terrace overlooks the oceanfront orchards and the cove beyond. A beautiful slab of salvaged, sustainable old-growth fir makes a custom headboard for the two island-crafted queen beds.

A remarkable accommodation, located in the adjacent Heron Nest House.  With a large oceanfront window, the West Forest Room offers a private entrance and west and south terraces surrounded by artisan stonework. Secluded near the fir forest and ensconced amid beautiful plantings, this is indoor-outdoor living at its most exquisite.

From locally sourced breakfasts to conservation driven experiences, we’ve created a sanctuary where luxury and eco consciousness coexist in harmony. Here, you can unwind in elegance while knowing your stay supports the preservation of our planet’s more precious resources.

  • Electric car chargers.
  • Lightwater Farm produces vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers for Lightwater Cove’s guests and the community.
  • An extensive water conservation and circulation system collects the water that flows through an onsite seasonal creek into three reservoir ponds, connected by a series of streams, allowing for a over 4 million gallons of stored surface water.
  • Premium levels of building insulation and heat pumps provide an energy efficient heating and cooling system.
  • Old growth fir wood floors are made from the trestles of a demolished Vancouver Island railway bridge, constructed in the early 1800s.
  • Complimentary bath products are locally made with botanically sourced ingredients.
  • Organic cotton and linen sheets and duvets.
  • Breakfasts include local farm sourced free range eggs and seasonal produce from Lightwater Farm and other local farms.
  • Lightwater Farm is vitalized by sustainable organic farming methods, including naturally sourced soil enhancers, a robust compost system, crop rotation and seed saving.
  • Rainwater from all perimeter rooftop drains is collected and fed back into our 2 million gallon pond water storage system.
  • This stored water provides Lightwater Cove with all of its water use needs, including farm and garden irrigation and pools.
  • Passive solar hot water vacuum tubes on the roof heat both domestic hot water and in-floor radiant heating.
  • Energy efficient heat pumps are also used for our heating and cooling systems.
  • Breakfasts are made from locally sourced ingredients, including produce grown fresh from our farm and free range eggs.
  • Our beds are crafted by a local artisan from local and sustainably salvaged fir, cedar and maple wood.
  • Mattresses are topped with natural latex tree rubber.
  • Organic cotton and flax linens are featured on every bed.
  • Cleaning products are naturally derived and  biodegradable.
