Lightwater Cove was born from a vision of harmony between luxury, nature, and spirit. What began as a dream of creating a place of beauty on Salt Spring Island has unfolded into a sanctuary where the ocean’s vastness, the forest’s stillness and the heart’s longing for renewal come together. We envision Lightwater Cove not merely as a luxury retreat, but as a living place of restoration: where every detail, from the artisan crafted design of our accommodations to the sound of the waterfalls in the gardens invites peace. Here, guests are welcomed into a space of timeless beauty and quiet care.
Our Story, Our Vision
Where Ocean Meets Shore
At Lightwater Cove, the meeting of ocean and shore is more than a view–it is a living rhythm. Each wave carries the vastness of the sea to the quiet embrace of the land, a timeless dance of movement and stillness. Here, guests are invited to pause, to breathe with the tides, and to feel the gentle reminder that all of life flows in cycles of return and renewal.
Discover an Island Sanctuary
Lightwater Cove gives you the best of both worlds: wild beauty and local culture. The land is surrounded by hundreds of acres of forest trails and a marine park reserve—and a rich array of Salt Spring Island-made food, wine, crafts and art.
Our Commitment to Nature
At Lightwater we have profound respect for the land and sea where we dwell—and for the people and animals that share it with us. On this working organic farm, “eco” is a way of life. Local artisans built Lightwater using energy-efficient and sustainably sourced materials, and the same care shows in everything we do, from managing water to benefit the community to offering island-crafted beds, breakfasts and bath products.
Sustainability
At Lightwater Cove, sustainability is more than a commitment, it's a way of life.
